Studio Simulation

Run a game studio

Studio Simulator is a 15-week gamified simulation where students form development studios, pitch games, hire employees, manage budgets, and compete to ship the most successful title. Every decision affects your grade.

Guided Tour

How It Works

Studio Simulator unfolds over 15 weeks. Here's a step-by-step look at each phase of the game.

Step 1 of 7 · Weeks 1–2

Form Your Studio

Students form groups and set up their game development studio. Each team customizes their studio name, description, logo, and corporate structure. Initial funding is set by the instructor and scales with team size. We suggest $75,000 per member as a starting point. The rest of the studio budget comes from peer investment before the simulation begins.

Key Points

  • Custom studio identity (name, logo, colour)
  • Initial funding set by the instructor, scaled per member
  • Remaining budget raised through peer investment
  • Studio identity includes name, logo, description, and colour
