Studio Simulator is a 15-week gamified simulation where students form development studios, pitch games, hire employees, manage budgets, and compete to ship the most successful title. Every decision affects your grade.
Studio Simulator unfolds over 15 weeks. Here's a step-by-step look at each phase of the game.
Step 1 of 7 · Weeks 1–2
Students form groups and set up their game development studio. Each team customizes their studio name, description, logo, and corporate structure. Initial funding is set by the instructor and scales with team size. We suggest $75,000 per member as a starting point. The rest of the studio budget comes from peer investment before the simulation begins.
